SODIMMs get their name because they are smaller and thinner than regular DIMMs. The gold pins on the bottom of the SODIMM provide a connection between the module and a socket on a larger printed circuit board. The pins on the front and back of a SODIMM are not connected. 200-pin SODIMMs are used to provide DDR and DDR2 SDRAM memory for notebook computers. 200-pin SODIMMs are available in PC2700 DDR SDRAM, PC3200 DDR SDRAM, DDR2 PC2-6400 SDRAM, DDR2 PC2-5300 SDRAM, DDR2 PC2-4200 SDRAM and DDR2 PC2-3200 SDRAM. To use DDR or DDR2 memory, your system motherboard must have 200-pin SODIMM slots and a DDR- or DDR2-enabled chipset. A DDR or DDR2 SODIMM will not fit into a standard SDRAM SODIMM socket. (Information about which memory technology your system uses is included in the Crucial Memory AdvisorTM tool.) The number of black components on a 200-pin SODIMM can vary, but it always has 100 pins on the front and 100 pins on the back, for a total of 200. 200-pin SODIMMs are approximately 2.625 inches long and 1.25 inches high, though the heights can vary. Like 144-pin SODIMMs, 200-pin SODIMMs have one small notch within the row of pins; however, the notch on the 200-pin SODIMMs is closer to the left side of the module. product reviews Do you have questions about this product? I know that I can update my Ram only upto 2gb 1 answer A: This part is not compatible as you require 2X1GB. The link below is the correct part to order: http://www.crucial.com/store/partspecs.aspx?imodule=CT2KIT12864AC667 Answered on 12/21/2011 by Crucial Support from Meridian, Idaho Q: My computer has 2 slots with 1 GB of RAM each (not Crucial). Can I substitute only one of them with this model? (I know the computer supports up to 3GB). Thank you. 1 answer A: Before we can answer this we would require your make and model of system. Please contact your support team with this information below: http://www.crucial.com/contact/ Answered on 12/21/2011 by Crucial Support from Meridian, Idaho Q: Will this work in a Lenovo 3000 N100 0768-DLU? Thanks! 1 answer A: That memory is fully compatible with your system and is guaranteed to be compatible. Answered on 11/22/2011 by Crucial Support from Meridian, Idaho Q: Will this work on MacBook Pro with 2.2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo? This seems to have all the same specs but the part number is different than what is found for that machine on this site. Thanks! 1 answer A: Yes this part will be fine for your MBP. When you go through the actual system on our website it will show a small part number such as CT687591 but what you actually receive is a techincal part number and if you ordered the 2GB option through the system link you would be sent CT25664AC667. Answered on 11/17/2011 by Crucial Support from Meridian, Idaho Q: Will this product work on a iMac (Late 2006)? Model number: MA589LL 1 answer A: Yes it will. The total capacity for this system is made up of a 2GB module and a 1GB module. Here is your system link: http://www.crucial.com/store/listparts.asp? model=iMac+2.16GHz+Intel+Core+2+Duo+(20-inch) Answered on 9/19/2011 by Crucial Support from Meridian, Idaho Q: Will this product work on a macbook from mid 2007. Model number: MB062LL/A 1 answer A: This system can only accept up to 2GB over 2 slots (1GB per slot), therefore a 2GB module would not be compatible. You can find the correct modules at the following link: http://www.crucial.com/store/listparts.asp? model=MacBook+2.16GHz+Intel+Core+2+Duo+(13-inch+White)+MB062LL%2fA Answered on 8/31/2011 by Crucial Support from Meridian, Idaho Q: What is the diference betwwen the ct120188 and ct120190 1 answer A: Two speeds are supported on your model - 667MHz (PC2-5300) and 800MHz (PC2-6400). The speed the RAM can run at depends on what the memory bus speed is set to in your BIOS. You can check what this is set to, match the speed of the current RAM (check the label or try running the system scanner on our website) or just opt for the faster speed and it will clock down to the slower speed if necessary. Answered on 8/24/2011 by Crucial Support from Meridian, Idaho Q: Is this product compatible with an Advent 7090 laptop? 1 answer A: That 2GB part is the correct type but wrong size. Your laptop can support up to 2GB in total over the 2 slots - 1GB per slot. http://www.crucial.com/store/partspecs.aspx?imodule=CT12864AC667 Answered on 8/17/2011 by Crucial Support from Meridian, Idaho Q: Will the esystem 1201 take a 4gb stick and can the bios be upgraded to take a 4gb.
